EXIT Festival 2026: Global Tour Announced Amidst Political Pressures in Serbia
EXIT Festival 2026, one of the world’s most influential music and cultural events, is taking a bold step into international territory with its 2026 global tour.
‘The First Chapter’. The move comes after the festival announced it will not return to its long-standing home at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Serbia due to political pressures related to its support for student-led anti-corruption protests. EXIT Festival 2026 has decided to take its signature festival experience to a wider audience, spreading its message of freedom, unity, and cultural exchange across the globe.
Dušan Kovačević, EXIT’s founder and CEO, explained: “After 25 years at the Petrovaradin Fortress, EXIT Festival 2026 is now spreading its wings to the world. Music has always been more than entertainment for us — it’s a force that brings people together, builds bridges between nations, and inspires change. Our mission is to awaken new generations to believe that a better world is possible, starting with each one of us.”
The first destinations of the 2026 tour were revealed during EXIT’s traditional Amsterdam Dance Event party, held 50 meters above the city at the iconic Crane Faralda. The tour will start in Croatia at the Sea Star Festival in Umag, Istria, a festival that has hosted global acts including The Prodigy, Wu-Tang Clan, and Amelie Lens.
June will see EXIT Festival 2026 in Macedonia, followed by a multi-location festival in Malta in August in collaboration with leading local promoter G7 Events. October takes the festival to Egypt, where contemporary beats will meet the ancient legacy of the Great Pyramids of Giza, in partnership with Venture Lifestyle, Egypt’s top event promoter.
November marks EXIT’s first event in India, in Mumbai, a city known for its vibrant nightlife, business culture, and Bollywood influence. Serbia will not be left behind, with EXIT’s No Sleep Festival in Belgrade evolving into one of Europe’s largest electronic music gatherings, continuing a legacy that has featured artists such as Amelie Lens, Nina Kraviz, and Bicep.
Additional destinations and the full 2026 program will be revealed in the coming weeks, as EXIT embarks on a historic global journey that redefines its future.
