SPREAD THE WORD ON SOCIALS

Magazine Open Air 2026 is set to redefine outdoor electronic music in the capital when it launches in summer.

The new series comes from Broadwick Live, the team behind some of London’s most respected cultural venues and events, and marks the next evolution of the Magazine site on the Greenwich Peninsula.

Located on the banks of the River Thames, Magazine Open Air 2026 occupies a never-before-used outdoor space surrounding the iconic Magazine building. Rather than positioning itself as a traditional festival, Magazine Open Air is conceived as a sequence of carefully designed open-air shows, each built around extended sets, bespoke production and a strong sense of place. From afternoon into dusk, the site transforms into a roofless dancefloor shaped by architecture, skyline and light, offering a rare city-first perspective on outdoor club culture.

The Magazine venue has already established a reputation as a forward-thinking hub for electronic music since opening in 2019, hosting artists across techno, house and experimental club sounds. Magazine Open Air builds on that legacy, taking the venue’s emphasis on sound quality, spatial design and atmosphere outside for the first time. A custom open-air stage anchors the space, with production designed specifically to interact with the surrounding structures and the open horizon of the Thames. The sound system has been meticulously engineered to maintain clarity and balance across the entire dancefloor, ensuring consistency from the first track of the afternoon to the final moments at night.

The first two Magazine Open Air 2026 shows underline the ambition behind the series. On Saturday 15 August, Josh Baker and Max Dean bring their first London back-to-back to the capital, following a series of high-impact collaborative appearances elsewhere in the UK. Both artists are central figures in modern UK tech house, and their extended outdoor set is positioned as a defining moment of the season.

On Friday 21 August, Magazine Open Air 2026 hosts a UK-exclusive back-to-back between Amelie Lens and Sara Landry. Lens, one of contemporary techno’s most influential figures through her releases and the global EXHALE movement, joins forces with Landry, whose dark, industrial-leaning sound has rapidly reshaped modern hard techno. Framed by the London skyline, the extended set is designed as a one-off moment rather than a touring format.

Launching as Broadwick Live’s signature outdoor concept, Magazine Open Air 2026 reflects a broader shift in London’s electronic music landscape. With increasing emphasis on experience, location and long-form programming, the series aims to bring club culture closer to the city itself, without removing the detail and intensity that define indoor spaces. Full details of the new open-air venue and future shows are set to be revealed in the coming months, positioning Magazine Open Air 2026 as a major new fixture in London’s summer calendar.
