Revelle27 channels grief into euphoria with debut album REVELATIONS
British DJ and producer Laurie Revell — formerly one half of Just Kiddin — today unveils his debut solo album REVELATIONS under his new project Revelle27.
Released via his independent imprint Dance Music Therapy, the record transforms the deepest grief into cathartic, euphoric dance music, pairing raw honesty with club-ready energy.
Already supported by BBC Radio 1, KISS, DJ Mag and Mixmag, REVELATIONS marks Revell’s re-emergence as one of underground electronic music’s most personal new voices. Written during the years surrounding his mother’s passing, the album reflects both a search for meaning and a renewed sense of purpose. “This album has kept me afloat,” he says. “Now it’s ready to lift others up.”
At its heart, REVELATIONS is a story of loss, resilience and connection. Voice notes, field recordings and emotional fragments weave through late-night house grooves and soaring melodies. Lead single “Hands of Time” is a reflective ode to longing for moments with lost loved ones, while “She Was A Dancer” celebrates his mother’s spirit with radiant, kinetic energy. The Ayda Rose collaboration “On A Mission” originated during Revell’s attempts to ease his mother’s pain, but now symbolises his new purpose: using music to heal.
Elsewhere, tracks like “Keep In Touch” and “Solitude” explore connection and introspection, while “I’ll Be Loving You” carries an intimate weight — a song Revell played for his mother before she passed. Perhaps the rawest moment comes with “THC”, a recording born from a night of emotional unravelling, capturing paranoia, empathy and realisation in real time.
Throughout, REVELATIONS balances vulnerability with euphoria. The collaborative cut “The Pressure” with OJM channels mutual grief into cathartic release, while closer “We’ll Be Together” looks forward with hope, imagining reunion beyond loss.
For Revell, Revelle27 is has been a creative rebirth. After pausing his career to care for his mother, he now emerges with music rooted in honesty and transformation. Through Dance Music Therapy, his independent platform, he’s carving out space where vulnerability and the dancefloor coexist.
