Slim Soledad Teases Debut Album With Impressive Opening Statement
Slim Soledad drops her first official single, “Mapoas Only” featuring Clementaum on 9 January ahead of her debut album release
Emerging from São Paulo’s underground, Slim Soledad has spent the last decade shaping and being shaped by Brazil’s queer and Latin club circuits. A dancer before a DJ, and a cultural operator as much as an artist, her practice has always extended beyond the booth. As a transgender woman, her work has consistently centred visibility, resistance and self-definition, not as statement but as lived reality. Through her involvement with the Chernobyl Collective, she helped turn marginalisation into structure, reclaiming space for LGBTQ+ artists while exporting Brazil’s radical club energy to international floors. Now based in Milan, Slim exists between scenes, languages and geographies, a condition that defines both her sound and her presence.
Her music channels baile funk’s physical intensity, techno’s discipline and experimental club music’s openness into something resolutely personal. This sense of in-betweenness runs through Noches Calientes De La Soledad, an album built around heat, movement and emotional charge rather than genre purity. The project features collaborations with carefully chosen Brazilian cultural figures including DJ Fucci, Jota Mombaca and Evissimax, artists whose practices align with Slim’s commitment to autonomy and expression.
“Mapoas Only” sets the tone. Rooted in Latin club rhythm and structured through a techno-informed framework, the track moves with assurance rather than aggression. The percussion rolls steadily, leaving space for breath and clarity.
Clementaum’s presence is central. A rising force in Brazil’s electronic music landscape, known for her commanding performances and work with queer cultural icons, she delivers a vocal performance that balances playfulness with control. Slim Soledad and Clementaum meet as equals, shaping a shared emotional centre built on connection, confidence and collective presence.
As an opening statement, the track defines Slim Soledad’s evolving sonic world with clarity and intent.
